About nanoLC-MS/MS

The configuration we’re using is a LTQ FT Ultra from Thermo Fisher Scientific, coupled to a nanoLC system (1D nanoLC (Proxeon, Easy-nLC) or 2D nanoLC (Agilent 1100 series)). The mass spectrometer consists of two main parts: the LTQ, which is a linear ion trap mass spectrometer, and the Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrometer.

The instrument can perform fragmentation analyses using different dissociation modes: Collision Induced Dissociation (CID) in the LIT, Electron Capture Dissociation (ECD) and Infrared Multi Photon dissociation (IRMPD) in the FT-ICR cell.

With these different fragmentation techniques at our disposal, the configuration becomes exquisitely suited for the analysis of post translational modifications.
